Sunshine Coast Council Historian in Residence
I am delighted to have been selected as one of the first historians in residence at Sunshine Coast Council. Based at the Nambour Heritage Library for three months, this research will be across the Sunshine Coast LGA, the unceded lands of First Nations Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples.
Stories of metropolitan sporting success and traditions often permeate the written sports histories of Queensland. However, the regions have a strong track record in developing emerging athletes and community sport cultures. The Sunshine Coast region has a colourful yet complex sports history, and I look forward to exploring this topic with the Sunshine Coast community and learning alongside Council heritage and library professionals.
